BIPOC Empowered Arts

This virtual Art Therapy Group is designed to provide a safe, judgment-free, and supportive space for women, Two-Spirit, and gender diverse individuals who are Black, Indigenous and/or People of Colour. This group focuses on expression of internalized discrimination, embracing cultural identity, and developing cultural empowerment through art making.

The act of creating art is to physically externalize the emotions, conflicts, experiences, and more that a person holds within, and visually confront them in a safe, non-intrusive manner. In a group setting like this one, when experiences are shared, acknowledged and supported it creates a sense of community, and safety for those who usually find themselves in settings where they are the minority. Artistic expression, and creative process will inspire growth as a group and individuals.

There are 6 sessions on Mondays starting from Monday, October 16, to Monday, November 20, 2023.
