Art With a Heart is a community-based charity that empowers individuals through expressive arts. We create inclusive and supportive spaces where participants can grow, express themselves, and thrive creatively. Our summer programs provide a meaningful opportunity for young artists to explore their emotions, build friendships, and develop their confidence through art.
Position Overview
Art With a Heart is looking for a dedicated and organized Teen Club Programs Coordinator to join our summer programming team for an 8-week contract. Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, this role plays a key part in supporting the operational and administrative functions of our summer programs, ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes and on-site each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Teen Club summer day camp for youth ages 13–17.
- Communicate effectively with the Camp Manager and wider summer team.
- Supervise teen camp staff and support them in the delivery of programming.
- Prepare materials and ensure all activities are ready and executed smoothly.
- Coordinate daily and weekly schedules and adjust as needed.
- Address participant or staff concerns professionally and proactively.
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages creativity and participation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for staff within the teen program.
- Support implementation of camp curriculum and uphold organizational values.
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth in a camp, school, or community setting.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passionate about youth development and inclusive programming.
- Ability to lead by example and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed or youth-centered practices is an asset.
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring).

This is a Government of Canada funded job through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
