Art With a Heart is a community-based charity that empowers individuals through expressive arts. We create inclusive and supportive spaces where participants can grow, express themselves, and thrive creatively. Our summer programs provide a meaningful opportunity for young artists to explore their emotions, build friendships, and develop their confidence through art.
Position Overview
Art With a Heart is looking for a dedicated Camp Leader to join our summer programming team for an 8-week contract. Reporting to the Camp Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting the operational functions and facilitation of our summer camp.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily execution of camp programming for kids (ages 5–12) or teens (ages 13–17).
- Collaborate with the summer camp team to ensure program goals are met.
- Prepare and organize materials for art and recreational activities.
- Help facilitate activities alongside Camp Coordinators and counselors.
- Address participant needs and provide support during sessions.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all campers.
- Step in to resolve minor challenges and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Promote creativity, cooperation, and kindness among participants.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or youth in a recreational or educational setting is an asset.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable facilitating group activities and providing one-on-one support.
- Passion for youth programming and community engagement.
- Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain).

This is a Government of Canada funded job through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
