Our summer programs provide a meaningful opportunity for young artists to explore their emotions, build friendships, and develop their confidence through art.

Position Overview

Art With a Heart is looking for a dedicated and organized Fundraising Organizer to join our summer programming team for an 8-week contract. The Fundraising Organizer will assist the Special Events Organizer with securing funding for Art With a Heart’s programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and apply for grants.
  • Reach out to potential sponsors, and coordinate donation campaigns for both goods/camp supplies, and financial donations.
  • Help plan fundraising events, such as the summer festival, by managing donor communications, preparing sponsorship packages, and identifying new funding opportunities.
  • Develop fundraising strategies to support sponsored spots for participants and contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization’s initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education or relevant experience in communications, marketing, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of Durham Region not-for-profit community and social service agencies an asset.
  • Previous fundraising experience.
  • Experience working independently and as a team.
  • Proficient in Google Suite Programs and experience with CANVA
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle is helpful for this role.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring).
